Vida Charter School

Education in Motion

Services for Special Populations

All teachers are trained in English as a Second Language (ESL) and bilingual education strategies, special education strategies, and services for gifted students through on-going staff development. Scaffolded instruction aligned with the Universal Design for Learners approach is used in the classroom to meet the needs of all students and allow access to Pennsylvania state standards. The curricula at Vida Charter School were chosen because they have research-based methods in meeting the needs of diverse learners. Teachers will use a combination of direct instruction and social constructivist pedagogy as ways to ensure that students learn basic skills and are able to apply them to real-life situations using critical-thinking.
